Look at the Fourteen assumptions underlying integral development:

  1. man functions as a system
  2. man functions as a unique system
  3. the elements of the human organism interact
  4. the human system is self-regulating
  5. the human system summarizes all of the required needs
  6. if man fails to provide the desired input
  7. a man will be in balance and harmony
  8. man seeks in the main to increase his complexity
  9. as man grows towards ever higher levels of complexification
  10. needs for system balancing increases
  11. Man’s principle source of both complex inputs and feedback is in relationships with other men
  12. growing can be thought of as a process of ‘letting go’
  13. a sequence of stages common to all
